Hi Alex,

Thank you for coordinating! and your plan and suggested timing sound fine for me.

Don't forget Tova Averbuch for the Preface.

For anyone else who uses Mac OS X 10.2 or higher: you can download the free Audio Recorder program, and Michael Herman has already made a very helpful little MP3 voice clip--using that program!--that explains to people like myself who are a little technically bewildered how to use it.

Subject: Audio book plan

Hi Guys

Based on the submissions so far, here's a list of chapters and volunteer
readers:
1: Thomas Herrmann, Genevieve Treille
2: BJ Peters, Joelle Lyons Everett
4: Christy Lee-Engel, Lucas
5: Karen Gorrin, Avner Haramati
6: Chris Corrigan, Michael Herman
7: Judith Richardson, Alexander Kjerulf
8: Mikk Sarv, Brendan MacKeague

I hope I haven't forgotten anybody? Is everybody happy with their assignment?

Here's the plan:
1: The readers will receive the book. I'm thinking that the pdf-version will work just fine for that, and it will also save us the time and expense of shipping dead-tree (paper) books around the world.
2: The people responsible for each chapter must coordinate among themselves and decide how to divide the chapter among them.
3: Record your part of the chapter on your computer. I'll look into the technical side and send everybody instructions, but it will be fairly simple. You WILL need a computer and a microphone.
4: Everybody records their part, and either e-mails the resulting sound file to me, or uploads it to a website somewhere. I'll look into this as well and return with instructions.
5: That's it.

I'm thinking we should set the deadline for recording fairly soon, say May 1st. I say anything worth doing, is worth doing now. Or is this too soon for the readers?

How does that sound so far?

Cheers

Alex
