A strange open space...

Ho Glory and others:

I have done a couple of OST's where presentations have been allotted and
I echo Harrison's call about ensuring that the Laws are in effect. One
OST I did scheduled a the middle of three sessions as a keynote
presentation and everyone went along to that one. It made for a
beautiful balance. Everyone was happy to sit for an hour listening to
this speaker who had come from a long way away (AMERICA!!! :-) ) and
the session spilled over into the next time slot where those who were in
interested continued to engage our esteemed guest while others got on
with their sessions.

So I think presentations per se are not a huge problem, providing there
are a few givens in place.

But Glory, I wonder something else about that meeting. To what extent
do you think that the "humph" feeling at the end might have been
attributed to a sense that the outcomes were already known? I know few
presenters who go through the trouble of preparing slides and so on
without taking the trouble to prepare a conclusion. And if the
conclusion is known, or even appears to be known, opening space gets
really hard.

Just a thought.

Chris
