Open Space Technology Learning Workshop
December 11-13 2002 in San Francisco, California, USA

Facilitated by Lisa Heft

Do you convene people for staff meetings, community gatherings, planning
sessions, conferences or committees?
Learn a simple process for bringing innovative thinking, high
productivity, rich communication and collaboration into your work
together.

If you are interested in turning discussion into action, running a
responsive, flexible and innovative organization, or leading a coalition
and community building effort -- If you or your organization convene
groups for meetings, conferences, work projects and discussions, Open
Space Technology may be a perfect tool to use.

The workshops bring together those who are new to the method and those
who have experienced it -- an opportunity to share your learning and
understanding of the method and to prepare yourselves for facilitating
your own Open Space. You'll spend 2.5 days developing a theme,
preparing for the event, experiencing an Open Space, and learning how to
design, prepare hosts or clients, coordinate and facilitate the meeting
and help organizations or communities support the actions and momentum
that come out of the meeting.

This workshop will be offered in San Francisco:
December 11-13. 2002

Wednesday 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm
Optional: Informal social gathering for dinner at various locations
around San Francisco.
Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

Our programs are held at beautiful Fort Mason, a historic military
garrison that now houses arts organizations, the world-famous Greens
restaurant, reception facilities and more. Fort Mason is situated right
on the San Francisco Bay, with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge
and Alcatraz Island. The rest of San Francisco is just a bus or a taxi
ride away. Come for a seminar and stay for a vacation in the beautiful
San Francisco Bay Area.

PS: Ms. Heft convened a public gathering -- The Practice of Peace --
this September in San Francisco, to help people come together to define
their joy, their rage, their frustration and their wonder at the state
of the world and their communities and also to identify what, if any,
actions they would like to take. If you would like to convene a group
for your own peace work, feel free to contact Lisa for support and
ideas.
