sense of release that you find yourself shifting to other needs and
concerns?

Julie, yes! It's a profound release when the first person accepts the
invitation to walk into the center and write their topic on a sheet of
paper. And later when the marketplace is in full flower and I say to myself
internally, "they are on their way - let me go pick up some empty coffee
cups and tidy up a bit."

My image is, kind of, that I've been carrying them on my shoulders from the
moment I accept the contract until these moments -- in that they have put
trust in me that I will deliver them this strange thing called open space.
(I'd love a less tiring image if anyone has one - but I do feel the weight
of their trust.)

Now I am letting them go, and they are on their own, until I start to think
about the closing circle and convergence, which are my invitation regarding
how they focus their attention into the aftermath of the meeting.
