Wasn't arrogance a sign of excessive Pro-active Organizations??

Meg--
For me, the turning point is the realization that we'll never be able to
build a healthy and stable economy (or corporate or personal relationship)
based on dishonesty. That has some personal implications for me, and makes
me ponder where my consulting work can make a difference.
Yesterday, we facilitated an Open Space for a small organization (local
government, not corporate). It's an organization that is changing, and
transformation is hard work. But what we observed yesterday was many people
taking responsibility and telling the truth--not a bad beginning. Parks and
facilities maintenance people, receptionists and day camp leaders were
discovering that their ideas could make a difference.
We're used to looking for economies of scale, finding the leverage points in
the system--which I think is important. I also believe that whoever begins
to work toward a new kind of organization helps to shift the balance in the
larger system.
My two cents' worth--
Joelle
