Like Michael, I'm catching up with the tide of e-mails which have arrived in
recent weeks when we have been out of town, trying to give Paul's folks some
support during his mom's illness, and her death on December 30th.

And every time I got home for a couple of days, I was heartened by the
generous spirits of those who show up in this space.  You restore my soul and
renew my faith in the basic goodness of human beings in this often-crazy
world.
