terror

I sent that piece before I learned what happened in the US. I was
responding to an attack in Istanbul, Turkey, near the German consulate,
which I read about in the paper this morning; and also thinking of
Palestinian and Israeli friends.

My shock now is more immediate - and I can wonder why this is true - but I
won't say more at this point, other than to pray for those who suffer, and
wake up to act upon the issues that give rise to such violent retributions.
