Seems the best people to discuss he theme with is a cross section of the attendees.

Subject: Request Feedback on an OS Theme for a Conference on Fatherhood

  Hi all!

On Father's day of this year, the Men's Conference Association of Calgary(MCAC) put on a 2 day public conference with the theme, "Fatherhood: Past, Present and Future". The conference, which was held in a traditional format with scheduled speakers and sessions, was a wonderful success. We noticed at the conference that everyone really wanted to open up and have their voice heard on a number of fatherhood and men's issues. Because of this, I have convinced the planning committee that for next year, the conference could be done in whole, or in part with Open Space. If you don't mind, I would like to test here the preliminary OS theme for next year.

We are also testing this theme on the attendees of the last conference. We are considering something like..

"Men in Transformation: Creating the next generation of Fathers" . issues and opportunities

Someone also coined the term "Men-amorphosis"

We want to attract a large audience of up to 500 men, women and children to start new conversations, awareness and healing around fathers and parenting, recognizing that healthy fathers and fathering will have a huge impact on sons and daughters, families and society in general.

The mandate of the MCAC is:

"Creating a world of respect, acceptance and fairness for all through love, joy and personal integrity. We are a not-for-profit organization. Our commitment is to expressing the value of men and their roles in families and relationships. We are dedicated to the development of men. Our aim is for gender understanding and mutual love and respect. We seek stable, loving environments for all children with full involvement of both mothers and fathers. This is a non-partisan, all inclusive group without religious or political affiliations"

  Any thoughts?
