Thanks for sending the Portugese poem.  I'll look up your English translation
"from memory" tomorrow and send it.

I also am enjoying that our dialogue is coming up in several languages.  If
we never read or hear anything but our own, how will we expand our
perspectives?  I find that if I listen or read, without worrying about what I
don't know, I actually understand bits and pieces in another language.

So, my thanks to those who have challenged an assumed, unquestioned,
English-language norm.
