The Elevator Speech topic is one that I have presented for years in my
development work with U S Peace Corps and more recently as USAID project
"expert" on Association Development in the countries of the former USSR. An
Elevator Speech is essential in Association Lobbying and other matters.

I needed an elevator speech for my OST consulting work. To date the biggest
challege for me in getting OST work is having the party "writing the check"
for this event feel comfortable in doing so. Using the term Open Space is
NOT helpful at that juncture (at least in my experience) and so I have an
"elevator speech" that, I think, is the right approach to getting acceptance
i.e., the check signed.

The elevator speech is right out of Harrison's mouth! I say, "I conduct
conferences when the following conditions are present, and only then!
1) It's already too late to meet the need.
2) There are many stakeholders that want to be involved.
3) The issue is complex and conflicted, and
4) "You" demand an outcome!

If you ever are in this situation call me and we'll get it right. Oh! By
the way, this can be arranged in a weeks time and there is no cheaper way to
get it done! Thanks!"

There is no need to wave the Open Space Flag, which I otherwise LOVE to do.
Just get the job and enlarge the number of "followers" experientially!!

You can not "sell" an experience, you can only have one!!
