Machiavelli quote

 "Joe",  (his last name was not listed on my e-mail from the listserv),
mentioned a quote from Machiavelli on how tough it is to change systems.   I
think the quote he was thinking of might be this one.


“It must be remembered that there is nothing more difficult, more doubtful
of success, more dangerous to manage than the creation of a new system.  For
the initiator has the enmity of all who would profit by the representation
of the old institution, and merely lukewarm defenders in those who would
gain by the new one.”

Machiavelli, 1513

To paraphrase an old Irish proverb...may the wind always be at your back and
may all of your systems be self-organizing.
