<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=windows-1252"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;">Hey all, and Greetings during the festive season! <div><br></div><div>Reflecting on the OS's I've helped to organize, open, and hold space for, makes me think about the ways I've received inspiration through attending/participating in OST. </div><div><br></div><div>The first time I helped to organize and hold space was in mid- to late-1990's after meeting HO at the Large Group Methods conference in Dallas and Peggy Holman and Anne Stadler at a wonderful open space for women in West Seattle at an elementary school. (Peggy, Anne, do you remember that one as fondly as I do?) Harrison, I also want to thank you for a boost in my momentum after OT17 in Cannon Beach. Then, again at a USOSonOS in San Antonio, an OS at the Beach, and WOSonOS in San Francisco, and so many other events arranged by so many wonderful and inspiring facilitators. </div><div><br></div><div>Since those inspirational moments, my best guess is that I've averaged opening space as an event about a ten times a year (some years more, other years fewer). Many of those were held for purposes internal to client organizations or associations, another group as stand-alone conferences for groups with common interests across organizations, a few more as experiments with Open Space as adjunct to other events, and some for personal reflections and action for myself an others. Group sizes from 5 to several hundred.</div><div><br></div><div>And, as others have said, I also hold a more or less continuous awareness of space open all around all the time in the multiple complex adaptive systems I move in and through. Watch the thread to track progress, by: # of replies, # of
countries, # of OST events, replies per unit of time, # of people
