So for Anglia Ruskin University module on Fundraising MA there is, of course a pre-circulated module guide. However only maybe one person has read it. So my question is "What should we study together on Fundraising this module" or something similar. The wall quickly fills up with some obvious and some unexpected topics. I schedule 2 x 30 min sessions for them to go to work, and float around the sessions to listen. Some are already experts on the topic they choose and wish to go further. Some are struggling to even understand the idea of the topic. Rather than write up a report I ask each group to have a report back person to give me a chance to write up an action wall of items to be covered. I use this through the 12 weeks of the course, and in the final week or so reflect back with them what we have covered and use the last week for a further Open Space to explore how they can support each other with their own specialist knowledge.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Each time I do this it rattles my cage a bit - to make sure I have thought of everything for the module. It also gives the cohort a sense of ownership of the module which they surely don't get from reading a dry module guide with learning outcomes which are rich in academic language.</div>

It would be wonderful if you could invite a planning team beforehand to work on it with you which will deepen the learning. Also who knows from 1 experience it may lead to much more. As you read what I describe below, know that we opened the space and had people create the market place wall in as brief a time as possible. We rehearsed our opening of space so it would accord the maximum time for all to experience and be in Open Space. <br>
<br> We did the same on a project with the University of South Florida, working on a sustainability program around Meg Wheatley's work over a 7-week period (90 minute classes). Community, Students and Staff. Three of those weeks were in Open Space.<u></u><u></u></p>

It opened the door to the World Open Space and even led to a Student Center being built -- it was one of the Action Initiatives with students asking for a place to engage together.
