Hi Kári,<br><br>
No experience yet, but I think it is a great idea. I could envision
an Open Space conference on work-life balance with all the stakeholders
present. "All the stakeholders" would of course include the
employees' families.<br><br>

Any thoughts or experience with this aspect?<br><br>

<dd>Hi All,<br><br>
<dd>I have a question. I would love to come to WOSNOS and I have a big
world cafe/open space, two day event called the Bath and North East
Somerset Youth Climate Summit (see
<a href="http://www.greenvisionmovement.org/youthsummit">
www.greenvisionmovement.org/youthsummit</a>), which takes place on
15th/16th October. It brings together 150 young people from across the
county to learn and engage in conversations which lead to action on
climate change and other global issues that affect young people today.
<br>
<dd>As I am organising this event I will need to be around on the Sunday
beforehand getting ready and I also have two children and a partner who
need support as I get closer to the event (and will be working longer
hours). So my question is around whether I could bring my children to
WOSNOS. Are there any other children going? I feel like if I came I would
get so much out of it even with a big event looming.<br>
<dd>For me part of what I am looking to do in the future is design
learning spaces for young people on the principles of World Cafe and Open
space so bringing my children with me to events like this adds energy to
that vision.<br><br>
<dd>Can I also put out there that if there is anyone interested in the
two day event who are doing similar things in the UK or around the world
and would like to come and check it out then it would be a pleasure to
have you.<br>
<dd>Thanks and please let me know if children are welcome and if anyone
else is bringing any?<br><br>

combining the two, got a good rate -- I will be sharing a room which will
make the trip even more joyous. Added a few days to see the
historical and Olympic sights of London.<br><br>
<dd>Thank you to the entire WOSonOS organizing Team. The
<a href="http://invites.wosonos2012.com/">website </a>is so very
beautiful -- artistic, inviting, most informative with welcoming
butterflies and bumble bees dancing on the web pages. You can feel the
magic of the event by clicking from one postcard link to the other. With
another quick search, I was easily able to find information on bus costs,
train transportation from the airport and everything. <br><br>
<dd>I hope many in our OS worldwide community decide to make the trip. Or
if not, consider making a small donation. By do so you will be supporting
this important Open Space event while experiencing it at a distance
either through postings on the OS list or the many summary reports
capturing the amazing conversations that will happen there including
ideas for action that will carry forward into our OS future.<br><br>

<dd>Hello, all -<br><br>
<dd>Think of how bringing colleagues together in a face-to-face event
shifts our thinking.<br>
<dd>Reflect on how learning - and community - deepen in Open Space as
amazing individuals host and attend conversations that enrich their work
for others.<br>
<dd>You know this feeling because you have attended a WOSonOS or OSonOS
or have held space for clients, communities and organizations.<br><br>
<dd>Now imagine a few Open Space colleagues acting on their dream to
connect with community at the WOSonOS this October.<br>
<dd>Perhaps you have registered and we will see you there.<br>
<dd>Perhaps we will see you another year as the WOSonOS moves to another
part of the world. <br><br>
<dd>Now think of a story that many of us have in our cultures - in my
culture we call it 'Stone Soup'.<br>
<dd>It is about the magic of community - the magic of each person adding
a little bit of what they have to a pot of bubbling water - to, as a
community, create a rich and nutritious stew.<br><br>
<dd>Whether you are joining us or not at this year's WOSonOS - do you
have a carrot or onions or precious salt to share?<br>
<dd>You will be helping some very special colleagues you may not even
know - but in whom you believe.<br>
<dd>Access Queen believes in some incredible people who just need a
little extra for pocket money or housing to join us at the
WOSonOS.<br><br>
<dd>20 (currency of your choice), 200, 2000 - know that every bit goes to
Access Queen Askers. What is not spent this year goes into the stew pot
for next year's Askers.<br><br>
<dd>Perhaps this money is 5 or 10% of your fee from a few of your recent
facilitation jobs. <br><br>
<dd>Perhaps it comes from selling your art or books, having a Global
Village Marketplace at your next trainings and events, having a yard
sale, teaching dance, making a good meal and having your friends pay for
it for charity, or many other creative ways.<br><br>
<dd>Two onions, four carrots, a sprinkle of salt - everything makes a
difference.<br><br>
<dd>Here is how you can contribute:<br><br>
<dl>
<dd>1) If you are thinking of registering for WOSonOS but have not done
so yet: do so now. <br>
<dd>Your registration gives the Host Team resources to help them welcome
everyone regardless of financial ability. If you have already
registered you can also contact them to add in a little more.
<a href="http://www.wosonos2012.com/">http://www.wosonos2012.com</a><br>
<br>
<dd>2) Other ways to contribute toward these amazing OS Askers:<br><br>
<dd>- Log on to your account or create an account at PayPal
(<a href="http://www.paypal.com/">http://www.paypal.com</a>) and 'send
money' to
<a href="mailto:lisaheft@openingspace.net">lisaheft@openingspace.net</a>
<br>
<dd>(know that sending as 'Personal' / 'Gift' incurs zero processing fee
- and please put a note about Access Queen in the notes section)<br><br>
<dd>- Send me a US-bank check (contact me for a postal address and
information about what to write on the check). <br><br>
<dd>- If you are a US citizen and would like a tax deduction for a
charitable contribution - you can pay through the Open Space Institute US
via PayPal. OSI-US is a 501(c)3 organization. PayPal and / or your credit
card company will take a small processing fee out of the amount - however
the OSI-US will take zero administration fees for this assist (thank you,
OSI-US!). <br>
<dd>For donations through OSI-US for Access Queen: please do not donate
by check as this creates administrative time on their side and we want to
keep them task-free in thanks for their generous assistance.<br>
<dd><a href="http://osius.org/content/support-access-queen">
http://osius.org/content/support-access-queen</a> <br><br>
</dl>
<dd>Most of all - many thanks for the belief you have in others, the
passion you have for our learning community across the world, and the
generosity you show by sharing what you have.<br>
<dd>A deep bow to you all (with one hand on my tiara so it does not fall
off my very big hairdo)...<br>
