Thanks for bringing those patterns into the conversation. I'd love
to read more about the patterns you describe.

Christopher Alexander's work made a huge change to the computer
programming world and "design patterns" are now considered an
essential part of computer science education. I think pattern
languages have sprung up all over the place.

The book "Fearless Change" by Mary Lynn Manns and Linda Rising
contains a pattern language for introducing change that I've found
to be very helpful in introducing new ideas - including Open Space.

Then there was a project where a few of the people on this list were
involved with - Group Pattern Language Project. It is a delightful
and practical card set of "A Pattern Language for Bringing Life to
    Meetings and Other Gatherings".

It's creative commons so you can print your own deck. I got a deck
from Kaliya Hamlin at the Community Leadership Summit this year in
San Jose, CA. A random sampling:

Distilling - To keep a conversation or inquiry focused, regularly
summarize and synthesize what has been said or learned [...]
Feedback - Feedback is offering and receiving information in various
forms that enables adaptation and learning [...]
Good Faith Assumptions - Assuming others' good intentions increases
    trust and effectiveness. [...]
Cheers!
