"by the numbers".  i was going to make this part of the osw
site, but it might come in very handy in posting as part of this wikipedia

here are some examples, please check my math and add any other interesting
numbers:<br>

-the first ost meeting happened in 1985 at the symposium for organization
transformation (OT)<br>
-a total of 20 OT symposia were held annually, that last 19 of them were run
"in open space"<br>
-ost meetings have now happened in 165 countries, as listed at <a
href="http://openspaceworldmap.org" target="_blank">openspaceworldmap.org</a><br>
-there are 469 facilitators listed in the <a href="http://openspaceworldmap.org"
target="_blank">openspaceworldmap.org</a><br>
-the worldwide open space on open space practitioner conference has been
annually since 1993<br>
-the wosonos conference has been held in 8 different countries <br>
-an email group, called <st1:PersonName w:st="on">OSLIST</st1:PersonName>, for
practitioners worldwide was started in 1996.<br>
-as of december 2009, there are more than 26,400 messages in the <st1:PersonName
w:st="on">OSLIST</st1:PersonName> publicly searchable archives.<br>
-<st1:PersonName w:st="on">OSLIST</st1:PersonName> membership in december 2009
stood at 662.<br>
-there are __ open space institutes active around the world.<br>
