i've wanted to ask you all to help me build out a list of statistics, a sort of open space tech "by the numbers". i was going to make this part of the osw site, but it might come in very handy in posting as part of this wikipedia article.<br>
<br>here are some examples, please check my math and add any other interesting numbers:<br><br>-the first ost meeting happened in 1985 at the symposium for organization transformation (OT)<br>-a total of 20 OT symposia were held annually, that last 19 of them were run "in open space"<br>
-ost meetings have now happened in 165 countries, as listed at <a href="http://openspaceworldmap.org">openspaceworldmap.org</a><br>-there are 469 facilitators listed in the <a href="http://openspaceworldmap.org">openspaceworldmap.org</a><br>
-the worldwide open space on open space practitioner conference has been annually since 1993<br>-the wosonos conference has been held in 8 different countries <br>-an email group, called OSLIST, for practitioners worldwide was started in 1996.<br>
-as of december 2009, there are more than 26,400 messages in the OSLIST publicly searchable archives.<br>-OSLIST membership in december 2009 stood at 662.<br>-there are __ open space institutes active around the world.<br>
-three open space institute groups (US, Canada, and Germany) are formal, government-chartered, non-profit organizations<br>-<a href="http://openspaceworld.org">openspaceworld.org</a> offers (or links to) explanations of open space technology in more than 20 different languages.<br>
-harrison owen has authored 8 books on the process.<br>-harrison owen estimates that there have been more than 100,000 applications of open space since 1985.<br>-the smallest open space meeting commonly reported was a meeting run by harrison owen, for 5 participants (when 7 others were snowed out)<br>
-the largest open space meetings commonly reported were in germany, 2108 participants, facilitated by harrison owen and michael pannwitz (theme?) and ____ participants at a girl scouts event in _______, facilitated by christine whitney sanchez and (others?)<br>
