Serge Kahili King, Shaman in Hawaii, said once: “The difference between a shaman and a spiritual master is like follows: the spiritual master works for the enlightenment of his people, and if inbetween somebody gets healed, that is an accepted byproduct. While a shamans’ task is to heale people, and if someone gets enlightened, it is an accepted byproduct.” That has to be understood, so people do not misunderstand the positions of others and can decide where they belong.<BR>

For me with some years of experience in human psychology and spirituality it is absolutely no surprise, that people organize themselves as soon as they get the chance. And definitively open space is an excellent way of self organizing. Some people can’t get enough to praise this insight again and again, and for them open space is just that, a playing field for self organisation, a beautiful world of ist own. <BR>
<BR>
For others, and I think for example Birgitt Williams and the people of Genuine Contact belong to this group, and I definively belong to this way of thinking, open space is just a wonderful tool in the wide field of businesses and organisations and meetings. A tool which has the capacitiy to foster sustainability, make life easier for thousands of working people, who normally do not have the chance to speak up, to get heard. And who want to trust that their beautiful experience within these 2-3 days is taken care of afterwards.<BR>
<BR>
In the critical time we are living in, where the number of people dying from hunger is increasing, where 85 % of the working people are deeply dissatisfied with their working conditions, I engage myself for the people I meet in my work. And I want to use all the tools which help me to do so, and I love to use open space as a tool, and to improve the tool in order to foster sustainabilty and life quality more and better.<BR>

It is totally o.k. for me, that others have another view, they only should not claim to have the truth about open space. <BR>
