<br>I've started a Ning site because of a great experience I am having on Seth Godin's Triiibes site.<br><br>I think it's a little too "heavy" to be all that useful as a "warm-up" space . . . <br>
<br>Seems to be more suitable for longer term community building.<br><br>My experience is that less than 10% of the members are participating at any given time. Seth Godin's site has @ 3700 folks . . . and somewhere around 200 participate regularly<br>
<br>So . . . Until it "scales" it's not useful for folks who are overwhelmed by the complexity it offers.<br><br>My site is at <a href="http://www.realestatetowncenter.ning.com" target="_blank">www.realestatetowncenter.ning.com</a> and is a "closed, safe space for REALTORS to explore issues and opportunities facing them in today's complex market"<br>

I've set up Ning for two different networks I'm involved with. So far it doesn't seem to be the ideal for us. But perhaps I could do better at customizing it to our specific needs. I've also heard comments from others that they're not so wild about it. How about on this list, are people using Ning to make it possible for groups to start communicating before conferences? If so, have you been pleased or not?<br>

Perhaps I need to do more experimenting with facebook and linked in for this specific need.<br>

What's your favorite web tool for inviting people to communicate with one another prior to a gathering?<br>

Ideally, it is easy to use for non-techies, not software download, not too expensive, fast, and has a simple and clear interface.<br>
<br>
The wikis that I'm familiar with are not user-friendly enough for many folks.<br>
<br>
On another note, anyone have experience with Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro? It looks impressive and I'm interested in learning from others who have used it, or something else desirable for video conferencing etc.<br>
