I think this rings true for me -- what we seem to lack in the 'free
market' is SPIRIT....<br>
some ever-present, yet tough-to-define sense of being connected with each
other and to live within this worldview.<br>
Free market capitalism - with its infamous 'trickle-down' effect - seems
to have a built-in drive towards the surival of the fittest and leave the
crumbs for the rest..<br>
From my dim dark memory of Adam Smith and the 'Invisible Hand' theory,
his development of the 'laissez-faire' principle emerged within a
worldview where 'spirit' (in those days, 'God') was operating within the
community - to provide a container of connection...<br><br>
