Space facilitator living in southern <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Spain</st1:place></st1:country-region>, <st1:PersonName w:st="on">Florian
Fischer</st1:PersonName>. He is German. Do you speak any German? He also
speaks some Spanish. He has helped me become an OS facilitator in mentoring me
up to a big OS event this last spring. Whenever I had a question, I could ask
him by email. We shared the money I got for facilitating the preparation group
meetings, thus he got paid for his help. We also meant to facilitate the event
together, he being my coach, but two days before the event, he had to resign

Two years ago, I took part in such an event and loved the way OS can be
learned these days – besides the reading and my earlier experiences with
OT-conferences in Open Space from 1989 onwards…<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

said, get the books, read the lists (there is a german-speaking one too!), have

and find out who else is there near you. Go assist them. And find out in which
field you would like to work, make the necessary contacts, and go for it. I
myself liked very much to be helped by an experienced facilitator / coach in my
first events. I also like to be able to reflect on the process with my
assistant(s). Whenever you have a question along the way, post it on the list.
There is always lots of learning involved for everybody by the answers we all
get to read.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

OS day - why does it do it? What is the story behind it? I found

marvellous OS event - people got self-organized, they bonded, the Spirit spoke
and sang and danced. But my question is: what happens next? Because:
until a day before the OS event everyone had their job to attend to as defined
in a world prior to the OS event. What are the experiences of what
happens afterwards? Because, it seems to me, for the whole thing to
actually be implemented in real life and not only during the three days of the
OS event - a company (organisation, or whatever) would need to keep the space
open afterwards too, people would have to be allowed to switch their teams if
that is required by the commitment they made at the OS event, they would need
to keep talking in open and free ways where everyone is equal as in the OS
event for the event to live longer than the 3 days... And example
that prompted this question is the example of Hampton Roads in one of the
papers posted on the website - there the event seems to have found a way into
everyday reality - what are other experiences on the ground?<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
