possible: "good morning! thanks for coming....this is what we are here for..."
but other times I suggested that she/he takes up to 15, even 20 minutes to
"set the table" as we say in French. Providing some background, outlining the
goal with more data/information, sharing her/his personal expectations,
indicating right at the start her/his commitment to follow-up and take action on
the outcomes... In such circumstances, I have coached the person to insure the
message would still be short and as relevant as possible. So far, I never
observed signs of desinterest or boredom from the participants and when the time
for them to "finally" jump in they did with a level of enthusiasm no any
different than in other circumstances.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

mid-April, I will be opening space with a group of 165 people internal and
external partners of a "Regional Health Network" (Réseau de santé et de services
sociaux). The OS-meeting will be a follow-up to a Future Search we did last
December. The 72 FS participants are invited back plus some 90 newcomers. We are
planning a 15 minutes intro by the Chairman of the Board and the General Manager
(president in the american health system) to present the story to the newcomers.
I believe they are entitled to that information and that it won't curtail their
energy to jump in, to the contrary.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
