<DIV>Friends, <BR><BR>Below is a request from Prosper Ndabishuriye of
Burundi. Those who came to the Practice of Peace Conference (PoP) at
the Whidbey Institute in November met Prosper and heard about the
remarkable work he is doing with young people in rebuilding houses through
Jeunesse en Reconstruction du Monde en Destruction (JRMD) (Youth in
Reconstruction of the World in Destruction). You can read more about the
organziation at <A href="http://www.netministries.org/ministries/cm02806/"
target=new>http://www.netministries.org/ministries/cm02806/.</A> <BR><BR>One
outgrowth of PoP is a trip that Mike Seymour is taking to Burundi to support
this work. <BR><BR>Mike has offered to facilitate a 2-day open space on
"buidling a space for peace." The challenge is funding to cover food and
facility costs for the 100 people. THIS EVENT WON'T HAPPEN WITHOUT
FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Anything you can provide will help. <BR><BR>A
tax-deductible check can be made out to: <BR><BR>Global Citizen Journey <BR>and
sent to: <BR>Mike Seymour <BR>The Heritage Institute <BR>Box 860 <BR>Clinton,
WA. 98236 <BR><BR>Please send Mike (<A
href="mailto:mike@hol.edu">mike@hol.edu</A>) and Prosper (<A
href="mailto:info@jrmd.org">info@jrmd.org</A>)an e-mail to let them know that
funds are on the way. <BR><BR>Thank you, <BR>Peggy <BR><BR><BR>PROSPER'S MESSAGE
<BR>Mike Seymour will be arriving in Bujumbura, Burundi on August 12, 2004 and
will be leaving for the US, on August 24, 2004. This continues to produce
joy and encouragement to me and to the whole family of JRMD. <BR><BR>If we are
able to get funds, an Open Space Conference would be held in Bujumbura, on
August 20-21, 2004 and <BR>it will be facilitated by Mike Seymour. This
conference is very important for the people of Burundi, who have been
traumatized during the war in which the country has been going through for a
period of 10 years. It will give <BR>the participants the opportunity to
exchange and share about themselves and about their communities, in order to
build a space for peace among the community and in the country of Burundi.
<BR><BR>The participants will come from different back ground, ethnic groups,
sectors and NGOs. The attendance would be around 100 participants, from
different provinces of the country: and $2,500 would cover the accommodation
<BR>and meals for 100 participants, transport, materials, conference room,
etc... If it happens to get a half of $2,500, then we can reduce the
number of participants and organize the conference at scheduled dates.
<BR><BR>Please be so kind to help us raise the above funds which would enable us
to organize the above mentioned conference. <BR><BR>Thank you and God bless you.
<BR><BR>Sincerely, <BR><BR>Prosper Ndabishuriye <BR><BR></DIV>
