Regarding inspriting systems..I observe that in an institution (marriage, family, company etc)that goes on with the spirit, there is a dance where participants, stakeholders participate easily and joyfully ( no need to think about and question)<br>

Then the music change or some participants'interests, choices, priorities change so the dance gets difficult.<br>
<br>
At that point some "space" may help to find and adapt a new rhythym, to create a new dance and institution.<br>
<br>
Moreover, there is no way back to the old dance.<br>

My beginning point is perhaps a blend of the two pictures you posit: We are<br>
birthed forth (big bang?) from some being of consciousness, and we are ever<br>
after pulled forward to the same place. In between, we are seeking our<br>
return. Evolutionally, this means we see ourselves as homing in on an ever<br>
growing consciousness. (The next step seems to me to be gatherings of<br>
people--a development of consciousness *between* conscious beings.) This<br>
for me brings up images of the solar storms we have seen, where there is an<br>
eruption on the surface of the sun, gasses geyser up and out tens of<br>
thousands of miles and are then pulled back to the surface. Definitely an<br>
Eckhartian image.<br>

So what does this have to do with open space? We are opening space for<br>
conversations for the future--to create it, influence it, make it<br>
conscious, remember it. Yes, we are remembering our future. But knowing<br>
that the future has many branches, do we not need to consciously choose the<br>
direction? Is there not an ethic we need to put to work here? An ethic of<br>
what serves conversation, inclusivity, life?<br>
