They say the flip of a butterfly wing<BR>
in Peking can change the weather<BR>
in New York. I don't know<BR>
about New York City,<BR>
but your kiss, light on my lips<BR>
as a butterfly wing,<BR>
is stirring the weather in me.<BR>
<BR>
In the heavy silence before rain<BR>
something opens<BR>
a crack between long-closed shutters.<BR>
Without a sound, something moves in the dark.<BR>
<BR>
If I jump up now I can slam the shutter,<BR>
close out the storm, but I sit,<BR>
rain and tears on my face, holding<BR>
all the sweet chaos of the night.<BR>
