<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana"><font size="2">We are
now ready to extend to the OS Community our invitation to hold the
12<sup>th</sup> OSonOS in <st1:place>Goa</st1:place>, on the west
coast of <st1:country-region><st1:place>India</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<span
style=""> </span></font></font></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2"><o:p> </o:p></font></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2">The choice of
<st1:place>Goa</st1:place> seems ‘natural’ in many ways:</font></div>

size="2"><o:p> </o:p>I understand that the name ‘Open Space Technology’
was inspired on Goan soil. <span style=""> </span>(Harrison and Mahesh

<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana"><font size="2"><st1:place>Goa</st1:place>
is a <st1:place><st1:PlaceType>land</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName>Open
Spaces</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>: endless expanses of perfumed red
earth and emerald trees surrounded by white and gold stretches of
sand, along the pearly white waters of the <st1:place>Arabian
Sea</st1:place>.</font></font></div>

<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2">The people of
Goa are characteristically ‘OPEN : in Mind and Heart and Soul -- OPEN
to welcoming guests, (their hospitality is legendary) <span
style=""> </span>to the Arts (great musicians, singers, painters,
folk dancers and chefs) to the Spiritual -- Temples and Churches dot
the landscape, -- reminders of<span style=""> </span>the Portuguese who
surrendered the island to India in 1961. </font></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2"><o:p> </o:p></font></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Should we decide
that <st1:place>Goa</st1:place> is the place I have the following
recommendation on the dates </font></div>

<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana"><font size="2">Between
26<sup>th</sup> Sept to 10th October. <span style=""> </span>2004.

style=""> </span></sup></font></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2"><o:p> </o:p></font><font
face="Verdana" size="2">Reasons: </font></div>

<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2">This is a time
between seasons : the Monsoon will have just ended, to make way for
the hot sunshine of October, before the relative cool of ‘winter’
sets in. In this in-between time, (not too wet, not too hot, not too
cool) Hotels will be able to give us lower rates and traveling will
be easier. (Chartered flights start arriving in <st1:place>Goa</st1:place>
from <st1:country-region><st1:place>UK</st1:place></st1:country-region>,
US and other parts of <st1:place>Europe</st1:place>, from November
to February.)</font></div>

<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2">It would be
a good idea to take this opportunity to visit other interesting places
in <st1:country-region><st1:place>India</st1:place></st1:country-region>.

Goa event, one could avail of the extremely low Monsoon ‘Packages’
offered by Resorts across the country, usually valid till Sept 30<sup>th</sup>.<span
style=""> </span>(As we go along I could send you the information
you need, on this.)</font></div>

<div class="MsoNormal"><font face="Verdana" size="2">Please let us
know how you feel about this invitation and the dates. It might seem
a bit early in the day to think of <st1:place>Goa</st1:place>, while
you are packing your bags for <st1:country-region><st1:place>Denmark</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
We’ve done a bit of spade work, and the earlier we can firm up the
dates, (assuming it is <st1:place>Goa</st1:place>) the better the
‘deals’ we can negotiate.<span style=""> </span>Also we know that
many of you need to set your calendars over a year in advance.
