This strikes me as a critical point, Mark: carbon budgets are complex, and much "climate sustainability” effort is going to playing such shell games. The conversation about living more simply (lower-carbon life/lowering the highest standards of living, so those at the low end can live comfortably) is uncomfortable, and we are often happy to avoid it.

Will you support me in moving this conversation to a breakout room, so others can exercise their two feet to join us or not? I just invited you to a #climate-justice Slack channel in my Slack, for that purpose.
