*The Uses of Not*
Thirty Spokes
meet in the hub.
Where the wheel isn=t
is where it=s useful.
Hollowed out
clay makes a pot.
Where the pot=s not
is where it is useful.
Cut doors and windows
to make a room.
Where the room isn=t
there=s room for you.
So the profit in what is
is in the use of what isn=t.
*Lao tzu: tao te ching*
.................................................................................
A circle of people with nothing in the middle. To the casual observer the
scene is prosaic, odd, even boring. To those in the circle the feelings are
different: fear, expectation, confusion, disorientation, anxiety,
disbelief. How did we get here and what do we do?
Moments later the circle breaks and people flood to the center creating the
elements of a new story they will tell each other about their dreams and
expectations and how they might be fulfilled.
The shift in mood and mode is swift, almost passing notice of that casual
observer. Something is created out of nothing... in an instant.
How?
Could it be
the power
of not?
