Here is my case studies. Educational reform. One school district. The date
was 1993. I set the world record at that time for the largest open space
technology conference ever held at 703 people. The school system was in
crisis major budget shortfall and school closures or the only way out until
the open space meeting was held on one Saturday That turned out to be
historic ... With 15 minutes of starting instructions 50 breakout sessions
were convened over the course of 7 hours in a 150 page book of proceedings
was delivered within one week to all participants. This educational reform
resulted in the very 1st charter school in the state of Colorado and the
2nd most powerful and effective charter school in the state of Colorado.
The 1st one is called the Pueblo school for arts and sciences and the 2nd
school is called the Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta preparatory high
school system. There is a great success story and a great story of failure
that came out of the last 25 years. The success story is these 2 charter
schools that have independent leadership independent of the school board.
The story of failure comes in that the remainder of the school district and
the school board failed miserably. The superintendent who authorized the
open space technology solution was promptly terminated. The school district
has had 10 superintendents since that time all with a physical results
whereas our community has the worst educational scores of any community in
Colorado except for these excellent charter schools. The school district
proceeded to pursue the path of corruption that is common in Most
government today. That is a path of driving government contracts to your
friends and then Harvesting your political campaign donations from that
source. In fact right now 25 years later the school district is pursuing a
1/4 billion dollar tax increase to repair schools in have not been
maintained a say in 50 years. So the big lesson is this my friends. For
sustainable leadership to come out of open space technology interventions
there must be a perminent change in leadership. There must be honest and
real leadership not political leadership that is found again in most
governments today especially governments controlled by democrats in America
and in small towns like mine that had been controlled like democrats
virtually forever. These democratically controlled towns like Pueblo turned
into the worst pockets of poverty as the democratic leaders become filthy,
filthy rich While retaliating with smear campaigns like you see against
the president against anyone that speaks out against the hidden democratic
agendas of government contract fixing. Just wait until the true stories
come out about all of the money funneled into Joe Biden son business and
the Clinton foundation for just one tiny example of self service. So the
moral of the story , it takes honest and real leadership and so when it
comes to America that's pretty difficult to find in the government
especially governments controlled by democrats.
