[OSList] Open Space and Introverts

Dear friends in Open Space

My experience is that many of the people who step up in an Open Space-meeting are often the ones that don’t “take space” otherwise – as that is the way to get air time in most meetings. But when they are honestly invited and given whatever time they need and also when the invitation is connected to taking responsibility for something dear to you, then they are more likely to step up. And I guess why many extroverts remain speechless is that they get so overwhelmed by the wide open space, not having to “take the word”…

Now - I know that for the broadest definition of an introvert that is not true. Because I myself am an introvert and I love Open Space. - has anyone else encountered this opinion?

- If so, what percentage of the average population do you think would feel this way?

- Is there anything we can do to make these extreme introverts to feel comfortable and safe to share?

Any thoughts and advice appreciated.
