Hello, dear colleagues -
I hope to visit the virtual - with a deep bow to Michael, Lucas and Suzanne and colleagues for continuing to explore the frontiers of inviting and holding space for us all, the world over.
And in person, there is the WOSonOS (a deep bow to Sharon, Mitch and colleagues). I will be there, in spirit.
Space opens for learning and community, whenever and wherever any of us hosts our OS / facilitator colleagues, around the world. For our own region, our own city or country, or for a world OS gathering.
If you, dear reader, are thinking of hosting a future WOSonOS in your own country, and wonder what past Host Teams have learned - feel free to contact me directly and I will send you a document that has the collected wisdom of over a decade of Host Teams.
Lessons learned - sometimes over and over. Tips for what they found was realistic or dreamy. Traditions to continue, or you can make your own traditions. Colleagues who have found that it's useful to have attended a WOSonOS or two before hosting - just to see how it is the same or different than they imagined. Teams who have found that putting on an event is incredibly different than facilitating. Money collection, contracting with a site, helping people find housing - a lot of non-space-like details that some folks enjoy and some simply do not. All of which can be done in ways that have been done before, and new ways, as well.
One of the things I love to do is support Host Teams, if they feel they would like to hear some stories, or think some thoughts out. So if you are thinking of inviting the WOSonOS to your country in a future year, contact me. I can share this document where I have collected the wisdom of past hosts, and / or I can help you think your thoughts out about capacity and possibility. And I can tell you how much I believe in you.
Of course, you do not have to contact me at all. And still, I will believe in you. That’s just the way it is.
In spirit, virtually and for real,
Lisa
