Tricia – having made a similar mistake many times, and been forgiven (I hope) by my southern hemisphere friends so far...it was really just a serious joke. I guess my humor can be pretty obscure sometimes (one might say provincial?) but I’m hopeful that Skye was not offended, and I am sorry that you were. Happy Solstice Everybody (Winter or Summer)!

I am surprised and saddened that such a sweet invitation to celebrate our collective humanity was met with such readiness to point out deficiencies and separateness......I see that Skye did lead with the northern hemisphere perspective, which in wording at least suggests this as the default for all readers, and thus may be offensive to some. However, she does accurately state that the long dark of the northern hemisphere is the long light of the southern hemisphere. A significant event all around.
I know it is challenging to always keep in mind how to be the most mindful and considerate of everyone's perspective. From my perspective, Skye’s message was solely driven by love and a desire to commune, not a desire to exclude.
" Everybody seems to judge everything from wherever they are sitting. " - how could anyone rightly do otherwise?........that's why we all need each other - in all of our deficiencies, perspectives, and honesty.
Thanks for listening

Sorry Skye... Our short is their long. Amazing how provincial we all get. I guess it comes with the territory of our humanity... or is it the humanity of our territory? Everybody seems to judge everything from wherever they are sitting. Or something.

You may wish to join me tonight

It is the longest, darkest night of the year. The Earth stops for a moment as if to take a breath before pushing on once again towards the light. There is a quiet tranquility not often found in the busy days of the year. This is truly something to be treasured. If you can step out of the commercial and social whirlwind of the season and breathe this in for even a few minutes you will experience the peace that we all seem to be looking for at this time of year.
The Earth has so many lessons for us, balance being one of the big ones. While we are stumbling around in the dark of the winter solstice our friends in the southern hemisphere are enjoying the longest day of the year. The Earth is always in balance which is why she works so well. I'll be sitting still for a moment tonight at 11:47 PM EST. I hope you'll join me where ever you may be. Let's open this circle as wide as possible and feel how connected we can be. Enjoy the turning back to the light. Please feel free to pass this on if you feel the urge. Otherwise, you may wish to choose one less thing to do right now. Whatever happens,
