> Thanks for cheering me on Michelle and Suzanne!
> wowow - we had quite a meeting today! I am now sitting on the 4 hour train journey back home.
> It was a Whole Person Process facilitated meeting including what I call a Galleria and some kind of Worldcafé. I have almost always used OST for the last piece of the meeting but decided to try something else this time and must say I am happy with that.
>
> Working OST-style for 1,5-2 hours can be little too little even if the group has already had 1,5 explorative days and 1/2 day action planning (3 weeks ago).
> So I had, with the assistance of the leadership team, prepared 6 questions to explore in the Worldcafé style part:
> How do we follow up, report back and communicate in the coming work?
> The role of the sponsor (for action plans - there are 23 of them)? I actually use a word: Frågebärare which translates to a person who carries (but not heavily) the question (or in this case the action plan) forward. Each also having a team.
> How do we make decisions and implement the projects?
> How do we let the spirit of OST live in the continued work?
> + two open questions: What else is important to move the work forward?
>
> Before that they had worked to update themselves with "What did I do, hear, see happening after the OSTs?" They also read the evaluation results from the OSTs and worked in the galleria to gather ideas on how to use what they learnt + possible obstacles + what assistance they need… (this is influenced from The Kirkpatrick evaluation model I use).
>
> Finally the 30 participants had a little time for reflection before gathering at the action planning wall. Another 20 actions were taken responsibility for. Different actions such as inviting the group of an action plan to a meeting, two groups wanted to merge, others decided to cooperate and others are already at implementation.
>
> Some important questions were also clarified regarding what decisions need to be taken where. Some assumptions that were clarified - and space opened up!
> Well, what a day - and what courageous leadership in that organization.
> We have planned a follow up meeting in the end of February - which will have a similar design - maybe OST that time though (-: (for the "How do we go on from here?" part of the meeting. In that meeting we let the participants explore level 3-4 in the evaluation model. What actions/behaviors can we see now (3) and what results/benefit do we see (4)… To learn from what they did - and use that knowledge when planning next steps...

>> Dear Thomas,
>> Woohoo, yahoo, hugs to you! Inspired imagining the space opened with so many opportunities to do the same in hospitals everywhere. Look forward to hearing more and as much as you can share. Thank you! Suzanne

>> Just a brief report back from the two 2-day OST's I had a couple of weeks ago with all staff from a hospital. As the hospital could not close down they had to divide into two occasions. They were/are so so very thrilled by what they experienced and achieved. I had the material from the first conference in a corner if anyone would ask - but didn't announce it and nobody asked for it. Interestingly enough they didn't really overlap - any of the 23 action plans. (in total 53 reports). Thanks for sharing your thoughts regarding this. It worked perfect!
>>
>> Another thing. I always present the Medicine Wheel before closing and recently I have invited the participants to speak in pairs for a few minutes, writing some reflections related to one or several of the aspects. They then put it in the circle. A lot of big insights and very positive feedback - to themselves of course!
>> Tomorrow we have a 4 hour follow up meeting - all 23 sponsors of actions plans + the leadership team. They will have an opportunity to reflect on the experience, share what happened since the OSTs and decide how to go on with the work. One topic that has already been spoken about a lot is how to let the principles and the law stay alive in the work to come. I do look forward to the meeting tomorrow!
