[OSList] Ang.: Mixing self-organization with structured instruction

Hi Agustin, I have thougth about your question because I sometimes end up in that discussion with clients. I deeply agree with Lisa, that it takes many considerations and one of them is whose priority? Who has the need to add things such as seminars, will it support the people in the meeting and how can I be sure of that?
In case I decide to do something I use Whole PersonProcess Facilitation for that part of the meeting and often put it before the OST meeting. This facilitation builds on much the same values as OST. I never add anything to the OST or prepare topics. However I often invite the participants to reflect on what they would like to discuss about the theme of the meeting. And I think of the participants as the experts. They often even know what they dont know and find ways to find out. 
I see the facilitator or leader much as the study circle leaders we have here in Sweden. Their role is to support the learning with facilitation methods so people can find their own way. Often they are people who just have a passion for the topic.

Hi Lisa!
My problem is the preparation that the talks/workshops need, that is not well addressed in the just-in-time organization 
Maybe we need to do a preparation some time before de OpenSpace researching some topics of interests that may need a structured talk/workshop


Do you know any experiences that made any similar arrangements?
Our local OS is a very valuable and scarce time and we really need to make the most of it

If it is the organizers or sponsors, I suppose they could put something on the Agenda Wall and see if anyone comes. That has some power dynamics attached to it so …Here I am back at the beginning of my circle wondering why this could not happen in typical Open Space.

In our community are enthusiasts that are eager for clues to hack their own work cultures that probably need a more structured talk or workshop.
