Subject: [OSList] First book on Open Space in French

To our Colleagues and Friends on the OS list,

We are delighted and very excited to announce the launching of a first
French Book on Open Space. It was produced as an Ebook that people can
download for free. Intended primarily for a corporate audience, the book
gives examples of actual client situations (from the private and public
sectors) where Open Space was used while also providing information on the
planning steps and benefits of this powerful technology.
The title of the book is :“Changez votre organization avec coeur et élan”
which means “Change your organization with heart and vitality”.
We invite you to take a look at the book even if you do not read or speak
French.
You will recognize many familiar faces from our OS community including
Harrison Owen who wrote the preface and a team of 9 authors: Frémy Cesar
(Haiti), Catherine Corbaz (Switzerland), Suzanne Daigle (USA), Diane
Gibeault (Canada), Théo Groot (Uganda), Christine Koehler (France),
DéborahMaarek (Belgium), Catherine Pfaehler (Switzerland), and Artur Silva
(Portugal).

French Book on Open Space
The fact that Harrison’s Open Space User Guide was not available in French
and that there were so few resources and publications in French are what
motivated me to start this project. We began about a year ago not really
knowing what we were getting into. It was a wonderful collaborative
experience! Our hope is that this book will raise awareness and generate
lots of interest in the Francophone community around the world – a precursor
to having the User Guide translated also.

To launch the publication of this book, we produced a short
<http://www.youtube.com/user/ForumOuvert> video and are planning to promote
the book with the following press release. While the video is in French,
you will have a chance to see and hear Harrison talk about it in English
(French sub-titles) and also see the team giving examples, sharing their
excitement and inviting people to read the book.

For those who are interested,
<http://www.christine-koehler.fr/forum-ouvert/> here is an integral copy
of Harrison’s preface in English titled Note to Corporate Clients / Note à
l’intention des entreprises, in which he speaks about his work with the
International Accor Group of Hotels in France.

Below you'll find a press release, don't hesitate to forward it to your
media contacts and networks.
Thank you all for your support as a community, this ebook would not have
happeed without you !

First Book in French on Open Space Technology

What if you could identify a critical issue in your organization, bring
together many diverse people who have a stake in it and come out of a single
meeting with a solid action plan and concrete initiatives to which key
players are fully committed?

This is exactly what Open Space Technology invites people to do. It is a
simple and quick methodology that applies in just about any situation as
long as there is truly a sense that the issue is important. This method is
also recognized for being effective for complex and urgent problematic
situations.

Co-authored by nine experienced facilitators from around the world with a
preface by Harrison Owen, creator of Open Space and author of Open Space
Technology, this newly published White Book presents a detailed picture of
why leaders and organizations may want to host events using this simple,
highly engaging and dynamic process.

Christine Koehler of Paris, France, who initiated this e-publication,
explains the genesis of this collaborative effort: “I deplored that there
were so few resources available in French despite the fact that Open Space
is being used in over 145 countries.

Through real client stories, readers will see the possibility of
transformational change in their own organization while gaining an
understanding of when to use this process and the steps required in planning
an event of their own.”

This 58 page E-book includes articles, testimonials, photos, references,
links and author biographies. Readers will have an opportunity to download
it for free and to also ask questions about the process:
