[OSList] Chile rising

Very interesting. The Ruling Elites rarely it seems show up at Open
Space. They hide out more likely! They send proxies.

Not sure history shows they ever have intention of negotiating, nor is
there really much of an imperative for them to do so.

Many say the only reason we got 1933 New Deal, etc. in US is because
communists were gaining steam on the extreme left-wing. The right-wing
had to cave. Seems there has to be an equal match for power to force
negotiation. Not sure we have that balance of power enshrined in these
constitutions and their institutions around the world.

Meanwhile, we have to ask ourselves about our own complicity in their
current problems by blindly letting Condor roll-out all over Latin
America in 1970s! And Neo-Liberalism after that in 1980s which
privatized their education and social security pensions in Chile
resulting in this mess.

Seems we should be at their Open Space too to represent the
whole-system since we obviously didn't ride herd hard enough on our
own Elites behind all that in what was then maybe still a Democracy
with some modicum of accountability remaining.

Not sure our Elites will show up either! HA!

In 1848, the Europeans experienced an equivalent to the "Arab Spring"
and OWS Fall, etc. phenom we're seeing now for a year. It took 100 yrs
till 1945 to really force in those Republics! And then only after some
pretty bad right-wing extremism forced their hand and depleted
everything.

Thank you for sending. We live in hope!
