Thank you again for keeping us informed, Suzanne.

Artur

(checking my mail after lunch, in Lisbon - if I write my name right, why shouldn't I write "Lisboa" instead of "Lisbon"?)

A new dawn, a new day.  Early morning fog covers the sky.. just like the  clouds that sometimes wrap themselves around our being as we journey through chaos and order, darkness and light, consciously or unconsciously.

Last night a night like could only happen in South America...in Chile!  Karaoke invited itself into our WOSonOS event. Jorge Amigo, a seasoned Open Spacer was the first solo soul at the mike. Then two, then groups of 3, 4 and 5, then everyone, everywhere, in Spanish, in English singing their heart out.

Dancing, singing, moving and shaking, young and old, new to WOSonOS or the old hands, the joy on every face had that hint of delight that  said "we were prepared to be surprised and we totally are!"

In case anyone was wondering, our premier pioneer "ho"  missed that party, having earlier retreated after a wonderful talk and a late supper with everyone.

Past midnight when most returned to the room.  Maybe that's what the fog in the sky represents, early morn fog in the head.?

It felt good to escape for an evening forgetting the world a bit to just have fun.

Dear OS friends out there,  we hope you felt the magic because we feel you here!

Suzanne

>>“Wherever it happens is the right place.”   A beautiful conference center in rural Chile where people work the land, are close to family and connect as community.  Indeed the right place to be!
>>
>>Walking into the WOSonOs space so lovingly prepared was
magical!  The familiar posters, the large circle of chairs
in the center of the room, five breakout areas some with
comfy sofas and chairs, a waiting newsroom with many
computers all lined up, water bottles arranged
symmetrically on a table with a huge flower arrangement to
the side, name tags waiting to be written, plentiful
snacks and coffee, soft music in the background; yes
indeed there was love and care in the preparation of this
historical event.  The rituals and traditions of Open
Space that we love which seem to feel unique and new every
              time.
>>
>>A calm, a peace and a knowing that "whenever it starts
will be the right time" permeates the room. Men and women
greet each other warmly with hugs and kisses on the cheek,
something that seems so natural here in South America.
Quiet conversations happen in the corners of the room and
a short time later, without a word being spoken, people
find their places in the circle and all becomes quiet with
anticipation. "Whenever it starts is the right time!"
>>
>>In the center of the circle, a Canelo tree stands proudly
a reminder of the ceremony last evening by the Mapuches
native people -- a symbol for them of communications with
the gods. Many markers with blank sheets of paper neatly
arranged waiting for topics to be written.
>>
>>After a few logistical announcements, recognition to the
organizing committee and a brief reading of the good
wishes from so many around the world, Juan Luis Walker and
Karen Davis, arm and arm, as if in a dance, walk the
circle, opening the space in Spanish and in English.
>>
>>It is all captured on Webcam; twitter will be part of the
party; reports will be posted live. Hopefully many friends
and colleagues in the World OS community will join us here
filling this physical space with their virtual presence.
