I'm joining the chorus of happy birthday thanks to you Harrison.
Like many, meeting you and Open Space changed my life.  More that seeing the patterns of operating that made so much intuitive sense given language and form, who you are and how you gave the gift of Open Space Technology has meant a lot to me.
Your birthday always seems a good time for me to revisit some seminal learnings I got not just from OST but also from seeing you in action:
*  generosity of spirit (Open Space is free for the taking. the only responsibility is to give back - share what you learn)*  focus on the essence (all the rest is details)
*  simplicity of design  (what's one less thing to do and still be whole and complete?)
*  inclusion/invitation (welcome the stranger)

There are right now, dolphins cavorting in Howe Sound, where I live in British Columbia.  For every dolphin that I see above the water there are hundreds below, swimming, eating, living.  For everyone of these birthday wishes and gratitudes, thousands more swim below.  In my travels, telling the story of OST, practicing and hosting and holding space, countless individuals tell me how it has changed their lives.  Indigenous youth, over tired social workers, corporate executives whose minds and hearts have been opened to the power and grace of the people they work with...

All of those thanks are to you Harrison.  
Enjoy your birthday, enjoy the season of light and dark and may you continue your evolution as an Elder to us all.

Another year gone by and such an important year it has been. Arab Spring, Occupy, WOSonOs in Chile, a 5th principle...space opening everywhere. So wherever you are this 2nd of December day, raise that martini glass in good cheer! Lots of chaos on the other side of order...perfect ingredients for self-organizing OS work to be done.  A celebration of life and best birthday gift ever.
