But true - it will be most interesting to see how they conduct this - i just
emailed the organisers enquiring as to who is the facilitator - I have not
heard back yet... 

Also - when I registered I had to fill in a box on the website to suggest a
topic for discussion - I was not able to leave it blank... as it would not
let me advance to the next page...

Sounds like an interesting go. And I notice that all the problems of the UK
will be solved between the hours of 4:30 and 7:00 PM. A little bit of Open
Space, wouldn't you say? But then again the Brits are tigers for doing the
impossible :-)

I thought I would share with you this website:

This is a meeting to discuss the new (coalition) government's approach to
the 'Big Society' which is one of our new Prime Minister's 'big ideas' to
engage more people in creating a better society. The advocates argue is all
about empowerment

while the detractors argue that it is about providing voluntary 'cover' as
the state is rolled back. Time will tell of course.

Interestingly the meeting will "be facilitated using open space technology
which will enable all participants to shape the agenda". I have managed to
secure a place at this event with a view to seeing who is facilitating of
course! But also to use the opportunity to explore the wider use of OS in
creating this 'big society' which as we all know - would be an extraordinary
good fit!

I will report back - watch this space!
