Video on Open Space

Peggy,  The two videos were terrific; just downloaded them. I can't wait for
you to complete your research on Engaging Emergence which goes hand in hand
with Open Space.  So many themes I can relate to including science, change
and the laws of nature, disturbance, hospitable conditions, angst, humility
and compassion, death for birth, individuality and community, etc.  Wow
great stuff and a super interview with Jim Rough.

What you describe, I feel. I've just done another OPEN Space, very diverse
group in Connecticut -- 50+ individuals.  It was only my third OS and each
time, I am amazed.  Trust that people will engage in conversations (yes
indeed, we had 25 topics for a 3-hour session); expect the angst, the
discomfort at the beginning....hopefully as time goes on, I will be less
unsettled by this. For some, I sense their fear, confusion and even anger.
Just sitting in a circle can be a big thing for some participants; add to
that the uncertainty of not knowing what comes next while sitting beside
people that they don't know too well, no doubt about it, it disturbs. No
matter how hospitable you try to be with heartfelt intentions and as much
grounding as you can muster, the unease will be there more for some than
others.  And then, as if you blew a whistle, when people start writing
topics and shop the marketplace, everything changes. They engage real
quick...so predictable. I'm definitely hooked and will continue this work.
How wonderful life would be if we could just let go, enjoy the ride and
trust the process. A tipping point to hope for!
