Self-organizing universe and tatsers

Dear Ralph,
exactly my experience!
When clients approach me for a day or less I tell them that I will do
that only for a very high fee... and less than 4 hours, forget it.
When I have a chance to explain stuff a little more in detail (via email
or in a phone call)clients will sometimes change their entire design.
I also point them to a paper I placed on the boscop site on what to
expect from variously long os events. Its in German but I know this is
no problem for you

Or, this happened just recently, a client told me that they are
convinced and next time will do a 3-day os (my favorite) which they then
actually contracted for (originally they wanted 2,5 hours in one evening).
One of the more frustrating phenomena around os in Germany is the
inflationary use of it as an approach to fill some "open space" in a 2
or 3 or 4 day conference (1 hour or 1,5 hours or 2 hours)...today I
received a request from folks training mediators to use os in their
annual conference (1,5 days), one of their motives was to have a
"classic" open space facilitated by a seasoned professional (yes, thats
what she called me!!) to offset all the junk they have been offered
under the label of "open space". Of course, I did mention that without a
burning business issue an os can be quite "flat"...it seems there is
some urgendt stuff, though.
On another line: The mail you responded to was not from me but from
another Pannwitz you might not have met yet. Seems that the three
brothers and my sons (Michael jr., Yaari and Daniel) are involved in
open space in more than just a temporary way. So, expect to hear more
from them ....
On another topic, the notion that the universe was self-organizing even
before it came into being really got me thinking. I just hope it doesnt
drive me batty ending up in one of them asylums Barry was referring to.
Greetings from Berlin
