hello all,

time for a website update, and a RENEWED INVITATION to you to contribute
news, invitations, event reports, stories, learnings and other open space
observations to the weblog. i'm beginning another round of tinkering toward
improving our oldest community website. i think we're nine years old this
year.

you may recall that there are three main sections -- a resource archive, a
weblog, and an open wiki. a quick status report on these, and then a bunch
of links that might be helpful.

-- the ARCHIVE is mostly settled, and mostly only gets cleaned and pruned
over time. it is an index to websites, institutes, basic articles, osonos
proceedings and such. i manage this as little as possible. michael
pannwitz' world map has taken the most important piece of this, the people
directory, and raised that to a whole new level. some other things from the
index find their way into the weblog, over time, where the searching and
categories make things a little easier to find. mostly the archive is not
moving.

-- the WEBLOG, on the other hand, should be moving all the time. it's not
been moving much for some months, because i've been mostly offline,
rebuilding a house. you are invited to help get (and keep) the blog moving
again. see the FULL INVITATION at
http://www.openspaceworld.org/news/join-us. i've had several inquiries
about posting things to the blog/site in the last couple of weeks, and want
to let everyone know that it's open again for contribution.

-- the WIKI at OpenSpaceWorld.NET is still there, wide open, used by some
groups, including OSI-USA, who posts all of their meeting notes there. it's
available to anyone who wants to gather stories or use it to post
proceedings at an event.

so, my main focus this year is on the WEBLOG and what you'd like to POST
THERE. http://www.openspaceworld.org/news and

meanwhile, if there are projects that want to request funding and attention,
send them for posting at
http://www.openspaceworld.org/news/open-space-initiatives

and we are approaching a bit of a milestone in our photo album at flickr.com,
closing in on 4000 photographs.

don't forget that osi-usa sells books and videos at
http://www.openspaceworld.org/bookstore

more about osi-usa activities at http://www.openspaceworld.org/osi-usa

please send osonos info for posting at http://www.openspaceworld.org/osonos

i still owe a few of you some changes and upgrades, previously promised, and
i hope to be able to complete those in the coming weeks. meanwhile, i
wanted anyone who wants to have something posted into the blog to be able to
do that. openspaceworld.org is open all over again. what do you want to
see showing up in our blog story stream? bring it on!

many thanks,

michael herman
