OS faciliation training

Ted -- I couldn't quite figure out how to access your friend Alain from the
information you gave -- so herewith a reply online.

I am totally sure that any number of good folks in Canada will be happy to
help him out, and will offer their services. AND. The simple answer is
--just read the book and Do It! And even if he goes for some "training" the
answer remains valid, I think. This is not rocket science. Read the book and
Do it! I grant you that it may take a life time to be totally comfortable,
but for whatever it is worth, I am always uncomfortable when I "open space"
if only because I never have a clue what is actually going to happen,
certainly in detail. But that is what makes "the work" totally worth while,
and constantly renewing. You just never know. It is always different.
Marvelous! And are you in control? Not even a little bit!!

And if you don't want to read the book (Open Space Technology: A User's
Guide) take the short course. Sit in a circle, create a bulletin board
displaying what everybody has a passion for, enter the market place of
ideas/time/space -- and go to work.

Could be a little rough, and the experience of 1000's of folks over 20 years
might be helpful. However, it has worked for quite a while, maybe for
thousands of years. Just Do it! And when Alain has a little experience, talk
to his new colleagues here online. They are always happy to share.

Have Fun!

Harrison

the facilitator for that session because the conference does not have a lot
of money and could probably not afford the services of a professional
facilitator.
