Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reminders of how small groups behave in Open Space and the
importance of having a pressing and meaningful theme.

Hey niko...

Right...it was Luca we were with, sorry to confuse you two. I remember that
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet.

Thanks for your observations on opening space. We're working afair amount
with youth and kids too, and I can't emphasize enough the importance of
getting the theme right. Open Space is fabulous when it addresses a real
and pressing need. Youth in open space are great testers of whether you
have the initial conditions right. In a small space as well, you will
discover quite quickly how pressing the need is.

For me, need is the seed of invitation. No need, no invitation. No
invitation, no space to open.

Give my hellos to Daniel and Luca.

Cheers,

Chris

PEople who show up need to be fully participating, I have experienced it
when people are not and i find the meeting is dead and going no where.

We have opened space for kids between the ages of 10 and 18 years for a
Creative Space we owned in NZ and have found it very difficult at times but
have kept doing it resulting in them or (some) of them finally getting it
which when they do understand it is brilliant...

I was part of opening space for about 200 people which were part of a
goverment organisation and thought it was great.
I enjoy it a lot when people break off into several different spaces and you
can drift from one interesting conversation to another.

Also I know that My father and Chris Corrigan Are very a like in nature
which is no surprise, it is like they speak the same language..

thank you all,

Niko
