The fabulous Laurel Doersam is breathing through a transition...

Hello, dear friends -

 

Many of you know the most amazing Laurel Doersam, an Open Space colleague of
ours who lives in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

 

Laurel has been living life magnificently, gracefully, courageously,
self-lovingly since her diagnosis with ovarian cancer in August of 2001.
Yes - a long rich time with friends, family and life after such a serious
diagnosis.  She married dear Rick and he officially adopted her kids, they
have done marvelous things shifting his cleaning business into an
environmentally 'green' model, one of the first in their nation; she has
lived to see her eldest daughter's marriage, and she has been present at the
birth of her first grandchild, the miraculous baby Ava.  She has been living
her life in Open Space, as has her sweet family.

 

And although her struggles and challenges and strength and wellness keep
dancing the dance of shifting and changing, she has recently been having a
much harder time with the steps of that dance.  She has had a harder time
with another round of chemotherapy, she has been in and out of hospice, and
now she has decided to return home to spend the last days and weeks of her
life, as she breathes and prepares for another transition.

 

She is resting, and breathing, and exploring this new shape of things, and
being surrounded by friends and loved ones, and sensing love from everyone
else sending prayers and warm light-filled thoughts.
