The U.S, Partnership for the Decade of Edn for Sustainable Development  <uspartnership.org> - with
support from the US Dept of Agriculture - hosts a monthly conference call that's free and open to
everyone.

May's Partner Call is tomorrow - Thursday, May 18th - from 1-3 pm. Just dial 866-918-5492, passwoord

Harrison (thank you, Harrison!) will anchor the first part of the call with his thoughts on Open
Space as a tool for sustainability. You can come and go as you wish - but this seems a good
opportunity to broaden the Partnership's emerging conversation about a key role for Open Space in
the remaining 9 years of the UN Decade.

I am currently reviewing the function and process of the Nominations 
Committee of our Friends Meeting. Currently, the main function of this 
committee is to nominate clerks (chairs) of the various committees.

I am curious as to the experience that any of you may have in using Open 
Space principles in the composing and functioning of committees in 
organizations.  For instance, the "Law of Two Feet" would suggest to me 
that those interested in the work of a particular committee be the ones 
that do it, and that if no one volunteers, perhaps the committee should be 
abandoned.
