Dear Catherine,
What I know of HO! is a a way to aknowledge the contribution of the person who spoke, like saying thank you. Or saying I heard what you just said. And I believe it is from american (north america) indian tradition. Not necessary an agreement as much as an aknowledgement.

Catherine Pfaehler <c.pfaehler at bluewin.ch> a écrit :Questions: do you all say “ho” to express your agreeing with what has been said? Is this “rule” still alive? Or what do you use? And where does this term actually come from?
Love and gratitude to all of you - Catherine
