Hi, Mark -

I'm just getting back from some time away facilitating out of town - I
hope I am not responding too late for this message to be useful to you.

Here are a few conferences I've facilitated in Open Space.

They were all useful in helping people share knowledge across
disciplines, share resources, challenges and best practices, build
networks, and initiate collaborative projects. In addition, they
honored the fact that everyone is an expert, not just those known
leaders but emerging leaders in their respective fields. In each of
these cases known 'experts' (those who have written, presented,
researched or made significant impact on the field) were invited and
participated.

One Ocean Marine Forum
International forum of marine and environmental educators

13th International AIDS Conference
A short OS - a Community Forum networking process for 1500
participants (Christine - I was away from email when you asked the
question of who's done
large OSs - in preparation for your Girl Scout conference. This one was
in Barcelona, Spain - another large one is listed below. Others have
been 300, 500 people, some have been 100+ people)

International AIDS Conference skills building session
Doctors, nurses, educators, activists sharing challenges, case
studies, resources, tools in the fight against AIDS

Foundation Consortium
Statewide Pilots to Policy conference for agencies and policy
makers serving children and youth

National Science Foundation
National forum for scientists studying the earth's core, rock,
oceans, air and weather

Advocacy & Resources for Correctional & Health Education Services
Regional conference for social service, prison and inmate
family support agencies

Partnership for the Public's Health
Statewide conference for organizations working with public
health departments on community health and access issues

The Practice of Peace
2002 US peace conference, 2003 international peace conference
(Tree has mentioned this 2003 one)

Morris Center and ASCA
International conference for adult survivors of childhood
abuse (ASCA)

United States Scholar Athlete Games 2003
International conference of youth athletes-artists-scholars - this was a
conference-within-that-conference of 850 young people identifying and
discussing issues and opportunities inspired by Gandhi's quote: "Be the
change you want to see in the world" (the other large one, Christine)

Coming up next month: Creating Change conference
National Conference of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender
activists and advocates

Do let me know if you would like more information on any of these.

Cheers from over in California,
Lisa
