I am sending out the word to run an OS on this theme in Sydney this weekend.

I am wondering if other Australians would like to run simultaneous events in
other capital cities or to assist me in Sydney.

Details to date follow. (Email address below so you can contact me offline.)

Let Not Another Australian Die or Waste Under Overseas Injustice

Large group meeting event:

Sydney: 9am - 5pm Sunday 27 November

Other Capitals?

In less than 2 weeks a young Australian is due to be put to death in
Singapore.

A mother and family will grieve.

And mankind will have lost another one of its children.

In the meantime:

- Schapelle Corby wastes in jail for 20 years

- David Hicks is imprisoned for 4 years without a trial

- And 9 young adults in Bali await their fate

Purpose: to ensure that no more Australians die or waste under overseas
injustice.

Outcomes of the event:

1.	A pool of constructive ideas
2.	High goodwill and energy around the purpose
3.	An action plan for achieving the purpose

Approach:

The emerging management approach involves harnessing the power and
creativity of large groups and communities beyond just petitions, letter
writing and demonstrations.

To name just a few, this approach has been used by the United Nations,
UNICEF, The Council for World Class Communities, Washington City, Ottawa
City, Kansas City, The Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Women
Organised Against Rape, Philadelphia.

Everybody has been in large gatherings that have produced great ideas but
not much action. Critical to the success of such an event is the
methodology.

Open Space Technology is the methodology that will be used at this event. It
will enable all of the above outcomes and will ensure that every attendee
will have a full copy of the ideas and action plans emailed to them
overnight.

Venue:

Transport:

Refreshments: Tea and coffee will be supplied. Food ..

Bookings: To ensure that the venue is large enough, bookings are essential.
To book, email .....

Resources: Tea/coffee/ help with set up. If you have a laptop that you or
someone else can use to record ideas and action plans, please bring it
along.

Late Notices: Any change of venue will be notified by 4:00pm Friday 25
November. Please check your emails after that time in case of a change - OR
we could limit the number of attendees.
