With OST and other processes, I observe that there is a self-organizing
factor at work with timing as well as other aspects.   As humans, we seem to have a
built-in capacity to fit the task to the time available.   Responding to a
potential automobile accident is an example--somehow I manage to process a lot
of new information and respond in a fraction of the usual reaction time.
